Project Facilitation via the Collaborative Project Process

Development International augments its mission by serving the international relations and outreach function of the innovative Collaborative Project Process for facilitating the funding and implementation of projects in global development.

The Collaborative Project Process is facilitated by a network of NGOs that links the public and private sectors and domestic and international interests to improve global development projects through unsolicited funding. This sole sourcing approach significantly reduces the time to secure project funding and procure goods and services compared to the traditional request for proposals process. The Collaborative Project Process includes analyzing a client’s project concept, identifying appropriate technology experts to help the client effectively design the project, matching the best companies to supply goods and services, ensuring that the project meets all funding guidelines, and then presenting the strategically designed project directly to the appropriate donor agency to facilitate rapid funding of the project.

The Collaborative Project Process facilitates projects in all development sectors. They typically range between $50 million to $500 million, and must have a significant social, economic, and humanitarian impact on the host community.

In this role, DI handles all communication and coordination between host country constituencies and the Collaborative Project Process network of NGOs. This includes determining project prioritization, identifying and maintaining relations with project clients and other host country stakeholders, and handling the project intake process.
