Country Resource Library

The Country Resource Library (CRL) is a country profile and information repository that is designed to serve as a comprehensive resource for development practitioners in all industry sectors.

The CRL Country Profiles comprise information that is both objective (i.e. statistics and directories) and subjective (critical analysis and informed opinions). The value of the information collected is commensurate with both the credibility and the appropriateness of the source from which it is elicited, as well as the currency with which it is maintained. The key to the value of the subjective information sourced for the CRL is the collaboration with host country-based and host country-associated contacts who implicitly understand DI’s development approach and who share the development perspective of the communities and regions that are profiled.

Unlike existing country profiles based on research, which aggregate statistical data, the DI CRL compiles information useful to development practitioners for applied purposes. The structure and content reflects the service approach of Development International, that meaningful sustainable development is about local empowerment, and therefore, a relative concept appropriately defined, determined, and realized by the ultimate stakeholders.

The value of the CRL is the unique contributions it offers to development practitioners:

1.  Subjective information from the perspective of host country stakeholders
2.  Information that is locally sourced where appropriate, to the extent possible
3.  Maintained in real time
